Day three of existence, second blog post. I tell my girlfriend I am blogging. She is yet to reply.

It has been a week of starts. Yesterday I started my first full day volenteering at Enys garden, I mention Enys in my piece about Carclew House.

The work was enjoyable and not too hard, clearing laurel and wood ready for the bluebells that cover the fields in May.

This event is what I am most looking forward to seeing working there, it may sound banal but they come in thousands and it is supposed to be very impressive.

My girlfriend has now replied,

'About what's

'?'

'You' I tell her.

I have just finished Stephen King's On Writing. Having never read any of his novels I was really intrigued as to what he had to say. Most reviews describe the book as part memoir, part master class but I found a third section. As well as giving great advice on fiction writing and exciting anecdotes, King also litters the book with really compelling sales pitches for his novels.

She wants to know what I'm saying about her.

I think this blog will actually be good for me, it seems to have enough direction to sustain itself and I find Wix a very comfortable website to use.

In the recent days I've been trying to manage my time better between writing and reading, something Stephen King and lecturers recommend.

Normally, I can spend days wrapped up in books not thinking about my own work and then inspiration comes in a flash and I write briefly before burning out again. Now I am trying to sit down each day for some time each and write for myself.

Having the blog will help as a place to showcase my work and not get disheartened that no one will see it, even if no one is seeing it. It can also be way to make assessments of myself at the end of the day and keep track of progress.

Today I have rewritten The Lost House of Carclew text so it reads much better. Visiting there was a really interesting experience, I had not expected any human activity but in fact the was quite a lot and I felt like a trespasser (I was).

Tomorrow I'll rewrite the other non-fiction, break up the poetry into sections and as per the advice of Anna Cathenka I'll make a homepage to briefly show off my work and GRAB you.
