It doesn't look like I'm keeping this up.
I finished Swann's Way, at times (often) it was dense and hard to read but also so vivid and emotional, I'm proud to have finished it but at the same time feel I need to read it again.
The psychotherapy workshop on Wednesday was really interesting. I realised I'd used a lot of the same methods myself when I had therapy a few years ago. It was really interesting to use them in relation to my writing. Some people seem to react negatively to the task, I think part of their issue was seeing it as reductive, that it focuses on the self as writer, which goes against standard artistic thought, but I felt it could work aside that, that the angle you could appraoch the wordmap model let you focus on the words or writer or at anything, select phrases, etc. It was very useful as a methodological way of creating and responding.
I am about to start reading Bleak House, I've loved the other Dickens's other novels and as this is meant to be one of the best I'm ready to get stuck in. It will make a break after the heaviness Swann's Way.
