In Search Of Lost Time

As expected a weekend away from my computer and a break in routine has got me out of the habit of using this blog. This does not consitute complete failure, however, and I will not give up just yet. I have also been very busy this week. I have been set my first essay of the semester, likely on Middlemarch and Bleak House. I am yet to read Bleak House, though, and did not really take much of Middlemarch in, so lots of reading and rereading is in store. I am reading Armadale serially, but do not feel gripped by it yet and read World War Z which I cannot say much positive about. I am also still tackling Proust, I really did not know what I was getting into and now I am in it, I cannot see a way out except to crawl, crawl slowly and desperately whatever time I lose. (hmmmmm)
The weather is getting better in Cornwall. I have started riding my bike for fun again. A funny knee is still funny, so my early morning runs are yet to start again. Beating the sun rise to the coast is a glorious pleasure and even in some of the stormier weather I have missed it. In my house I've commandeered the big writing desk in the living area from a perpetual pile of clothes and I have a nice view of the daffodils which are now blooming.
My workload does not seem to be getting any smalling in the coming weeks, the pile of books 'to read' grows bigger no matter how much time I dedicate to its conquest. On writing, I am trying to finish some short prose pieces and an article on my visit to Kiev but I am not sure what they are for and cannot seem to feel happily finished with them. My particular bother at the moment is my tenses, I hop around being in the past, present and the future and weave around all kinds of participles.
This website has not changed much, I want to try and take a good look at it next week sometime. I have also got an interesting workshop based on psychotherapy that should give some interesting things to think about but it may not leave enough time to write about it on here.
